A bit belated for a New Year’s post. But just some more updates about what is going on.
First, in site news, I’ve recently gone through the site and updated broken links where I could. I also deleted some thin content in that process. Some of you know that I used to be a domainer (eww, yuck, run, lol/jk). I took this opportunity to remove some of that content that was really no longer relevant. That said, I did write a post a few years back about what happened to my domaining; some of you may find it entertaining. I still hold a few domains today. I’m too lazy to log in to my registrar accounts, but I’d say I have less than 60 at this point. A far cry from 2300 I used to own.
I’m glad to be in a new year. Frankly, the end of 2018 wasn’t very fun to go through. Several deaths among friends and family. It’s hard. You try to rise above it all, bobbing and weaving your way through that kind of stuff, while still trying to celebrate the holidays. Especially so with children. You’ve reached that age where some high school classmates are grandparents and others have hit that point where age-related health issues become a concern. And cancer, fuck cancer. Taking people much too young to go. Dealing with those kinds of things lately also triggers a lot of introspection.
And with that introspection you start looking over things like your career, your life choices (I wouldn’t change anything) and then the bigger picture questions. Am I doing what I want to be doing? Is this it? Get up, go to work, come home, sleep. Throw in the random activity and repeat. What do I want to do when I grow up? Why do I have all these random aches and pains. Is this the mid-life crisis? If it is, Red Porsch, here I come.
But it was not all doom and gloom, went camping with whole family this year in Zion National Park with a detour on our way out through Salt Lake City for some In-And-Out Burger. Here’s a couple of my favorite shots. I do look forward to the road trips with fam.
Well anyway. Here’s to 2019. Lots of stuff to look forward to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Captain Marvel and then wrapping up the current phase of the MCU with Avengers: Endgame. We are planning bing watching the MCU before Endgame with the Spaghetti Order, where each post-credit scene leads you to the next movie. It is pretty close to release order with about 4 films shuffled around.
As mentioned a month or so ago, I am planning on bringing some fresh content to the blog. Plus I have some content from a site where I was a freelance author that I’m trying to bring over. That site is going away and I’ve acquired copyright ownership on a bunch of it. Not all of it fits, so I’m trying to find a good balance of beneficial content for you, the web visitor and some popular content that was, let’s say, good for traffic.
While wading through my old domaining content, it also brought back a lot of stories from back in the day. I may want to get those in here as well.
